The artistic craftsman laid the foundations for the traditional operation Lohse, which celebrated its 100-year anniversary in September 2008. Since then, two modern and highly specialised industrial companies developed from the Heidenheim factory, which are successful worldwide in machine building and in the production of valves. The two Lohse companies, Maschinenbau Lohse GmbH and Martin Lohse GmbH, work mainly with paper manufacturers, chemical industries and waste management companies. "Knowhow of metal processing is the basis of our success," stresses Martin Lohse, managing director and son of the company's namesake Martin Lohse senior. "From the start, this knowledge base has been continually developed. By transferring knowhow to various new areas of application our traditional operation has been able to master more and more business areas over time." The development of LOHSE valves for paper making and paper machine manufacturing has always been based on close cooperation with industry experts. The design started with a cast iron valve, progressed to a valve clad internally with stainless steel and finally evolved into a modern valve made entirely from corrosion and acid resistant stainless steel- the LOHSE COMPACT valve. Valves have also been designed specially for difficult areas such as waste paper stock preparation. These valves have become an industry standard in paper mills using recycled paper. LOHSE valves are valued throughout the chemical and foodstuffs industries. The shut-off types are suitable for shut-off and regulation of aggressive viscous, granular and pulverulant media. LOHSE stock valves with through-going slide plate special execution with sealings suitable for foodstuffs are used as shut-off valves and regulating valves as for instance in salt works, sugar mills, winemaking industry, breweries etc. When LOHSE valves of acid resistant stainless steel are installed in waste water treatment plants, the need for expensive isolation appliances to prevent contact-corrosion is removed. LOHSE stock valves with through-going slide plate are used In waste treatment plants for shutting off sludge and aggressive substances. For special applications, we can supply special valves constructed of various materials for differing temperatures, pressures and sealing properties to suit the particular application. MARTIN LOHSE GmbH is now the only noteworthy valve manufacturer building valves from two easy to maintain housings. Others have adopted a one-piece housing for cost reasons. However only the two part housing enables the simple exchange of valve wearing parts. The one piece housing has an additional disadvantage - namely that the space to position the slide plate in the housing has to be relatively great by nature of the design of the casting. This increases the likelihood of paper fibres blocking up and dewatering. The narrow tolerances between the slide plate and the easy slide plastic slide cup of the LOHSE valve avoids this. Furthermore the valve guide areas are cleared by a specially designed firm slide plate. A thoroughly thought out system to accommodate different accessories and drives – all part of the MARTIN LOHSE GmbH modular valve system -is a further advantage of the LOHSE design. | | Zurück |
